Dangers Of Receding Gums That Pregnant Women Should Be Aware Of
The real problem with periodontal disease is that it is oftentimes painless, by which many patients have come to miss that they are actually attacked by the silent disease unless it is diagnosed by a dentist. Periodontal disease can cause long-term bad breath, red, swollen and bleeding gums. Failing to treat periodontal disease can make cavities and receding gums to follow. Dental check ups are important for everyone to check for the development of gum disease, which is especially important for women who are bearing a child because the disease can affect the baby. Once pregnant women have dental problems, they are at great risk for having pre-term births or low birth weights due to inflammatory factors causing women to go through labor at the wrong time.
